Smart Cutter 2-in-1 Food Chopper Knife review

Smart Cutter 2-in-1 Food Chopper Knife and Cutting Board

As I love cooking and spend quite a bit of time chopping and dicing when I saw this product adverted I thought wow this looks good.

It is advertised as a 2-in-1 knife and cutting board with a razor sharp stainless see blade and they claim it is 10 times faster than a knife and slices with speed and ease.

Smart Cutter 2-in-1 Claims to quickly chops all kinds of food including:

2 in 1 cutting knife

Steak and more

Well you know me, yes I purchased one.

The table below shows some of the things I tested the knife on and what I thought of the result.

Tomatoes Wouldn’t slice and mashed the tomatoes up
Bread No – squashed the bread
Apple No problem sliced OK
Carrots No problem sliced OK
Lemon No problem sliced OK
Cucumber No problem sliced OK
Chives A little messy – better with a knife
Onion No problem sliced OK
Ginger No problem easy
Garlic No problem pretty good
Cheese No problem sliced OK
Potato No problem sliced OK
Chicken A little messy
Celery No problem sliced OK
Corn No problem sliced OK

What I soon came to realise is that the smart cutter 2-in-1 works fine on hard fruit and veg but on soft things like bread or tomatoes it doesn’t fair to well.

I personally didn’t find that it was quicker than a knife and let me tell you,  I am no chopping genie.

It does indeed cut well on harder produce but trying to cut chips takes way too long, I could have had them cooked in the time it took me to cut potatoes into chips.

If you like novelty items or want to cut the risk (excuse the pun) of cutting your fingers, then this ones for you.  The bonus was that my hands didn’t smell of garlic or onions when I cut these items and I didn’t need to keep cleaning a chopping board after each different item,  it was just a quick wash under the tap for the 2-in-1 smart cutter.

Smart cutter review in a nut shell

Does it chop 10 times faster than a knife?  No

Does it have a razor sharp blade? No

Does it chop and slice all the foods it claims to?  Most of the foods I tried worked out OK but it doesn’t work to well on soft produce.

Priced at around £10  the blade could be sharper but yes it did cut most of the things they claimed it would. Like Marmite you will either love it or hate it.
